Clem's Garage Inc. will be celebrating 75 years of serving our community here is Stephens City, Virginia come July 2020. We are now well into our 4th generation of Clem's working for and assisting in running the business all awhile maintaining the quality of service made standard by out founder and Grandfather Richard O. Clem in 1945.

Richard started Clem's Garage in a two-bay shop on Mulberry St, in 1953 he purchased the property where we are still located today, on Main St. Richard and his wife Christine had seven children: Dickie, Larry, Dennis, Ralph, Lynn, Doris and Lorraine, all of which dedicated part if not all of their lives to making Clem's Garage the successful business it has become.

Throughout the generations Clem's Garage has been the go-to place for the community on many fronts ranging from: tractor repair and sales, car maintenance and repairs, auto body and paint, salvage yard, gas station, used car sales, towing local and long distance, even as the local "good ole boy" hang out spot.

Now, in 2019, the business consists of the garage that performs car repairs and maintenance as well as being a Virginia State Inspection station, and our towing and hauling operations have grown to a fleet of 17 trucks ranging from tractor trailers and rollbacks that are on the road seven days a week transporting vehicles and equipment up and down the east coast and responding to local authorities for vehicle accidents and recoveries.

As of now almost all of the second generation have retired. Dennis Clem is currently the owner along with his sons Billy and Craig, who are responsible for all business operations. Billy's wife Kim, is the secretary and treasurer and also helps in the service office. Billy and Craig's children along with a nephew comprise the 4th generation working for the family business. Eric is a full-time rollback driver who is able to step in as a mechanic, Jamie assists with administration requirements as well as driving a rollback.

Of 20 employees, eight are Clem's, the remaining have spent anywhere from 2-30 plus years here and we consider all of the family.
